My Telstars are on order, the fronts have arrived and look great. I haven't decided on what tire to get for the rears. I ordered the 15X8 for the rear. I'm stuck between the 275/50/15 MT DR's or the 26X11.5-15 ET Street. Would the DR last a while? I had BFG DR's and didn't last the only time I took them to the track. Do you need to heat up the DR's in the box?

I highly recommend the M/T DRs...Yes, you have to heat them up a bit more than the BFGs, but boy can I get them to hook! They ride great on the street and seem to be lasting longer than my BFG DRs. They have less tread grooves, but the tread is deeper. Got caught in the rain a few times and it wasn't hateful to drive with them....The ET Streets are a good tire too, but they ride like crap especially when paired with radial fronts...60's in my sig are with the 255 50 R16s on stock wheels, and I'm running both sway bars and the 16x8 fronts, too...

I just noticed you have an M6...I read somewhere that M/T recommends the ET Street for M6s because the sidewall wrinkles better to absorb the shock of launch..Check with them on this...

The ET Streets are really not for street use, if that's what you intend to use them for. I've driven them on the street (I'm 7 miles from Raceway Park, E'town NJ) and they are not good for handling, or for any kind of wet pavement. In the wet, they can be absolutely deadly.... something I never experienced with the BFG DR's on the street.

 

I've heard it also from someone else about the MT DR not being good for M6 cars. They SHOCK the drivetrain too much due to the lack of sidewall flexability.

They will be more for the track than street, but I will like to use them once in while for the street, events and stuff!
