What we want to do at Chevrolet," Lyon said, "is have a much more dramatic, bold, dynamic look - very powerful-looking cars, whether it's a car or a truck, commuter car or whatever."

Quite a change from the milquetoast Impala, eh?
Interesting. I wonder where that leaves Pontiac?? Wait...that would be the same dumpster Olds is hiding in

In an industry littered with acquisition/alliance failures (GM-Fiat, GM-Saab, GM-Subaru, GM-Isuzu, Ford-Jaguar, Ford-Land Rover, BMW-Rover, Mercedes-Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Smart), it's nice to see one finally work. Although, I imagine the story might have turned out a bit different if Daewoo had've been purchased (by Ford) for the original ~$7 billion price tag instead of the $750 million GM paid.

Let's not forget, in addition to design and engineering resources, the $750M also got three assembly plants with a combined volume of 600,000 units annually. And guess what - they're selling well worldwide.
