Need quick help...my car doesn't want me to race...

So I was doing a couple maintanance things tonight cause I'm gonna drag race tomorrow. So my car decides to break itself...one of my headlights quit, and my battery hold down let go...

Is there any LEGAL way to get passed this? The next track day is not till next month...actually I'm thinkin not even until January. So what can you guys tell me? Anything helps...

Headlight - easy R & R, but they're some of the most expensive sealed beams out there.

Battery - lots of guys have fabbed their own battery hold-downs, and there are kits available on the 'net. I recall reading a thread about that not that long ago. I replaced the coolant tank / battery tray montrosity when mine broke.

But you will flunk the tech inspection at the track if they push on the battery and it moves. I'm not sure if they'll let you race (at night) with one headlight burnt out - maybe that's not a big deal, especially if you run your fog lights.

For a homemade remedy, look here

And Year One has a part here that does the trick.

Battery tray - go to AutoZone or other parts place. For about 12-15 bucks total you can get 2 different battery hold downs that can be made to work easily. Basically follow the instructions from the website Dave posted.

If you can't pass tech with a headlight out, you will have to break down and buy a new light. I would guess AZ would probably have those in stock behind the counter.
