1. We have a "Wheels and Tires" forum... that's where this should have been posted.

2. "Search".

Moving to "Wheels and Tires"......

Putting LS1-era wheels on an LT1 ride, correct? I had the same problem when putting the wheels off my '99 on to the '95 Camaro. Evidentally the hub on the end of the LS1 axles are just slightly smaller than that of the LT1 year models. Just slightly grind or sand off a bit of the inner diameter of the wheel for it to slip right over.

hand sanding might take you awhile, I used a dremel on mine. Worked great.

what kind of bit do you need, will they still work on ls1's after i dremel them? one of them would go on my rear but the other one wouldnt, any ideas?

Re: why doesnt chrome 10 spoke ss rims want to go on my pass rear hub?

You really need to check all 4 wheels on the rear, and enlarge the center bore in all of them. That way you can rotate the tires. And you can move a front tire to the back in case you have a flat tire.... you don't want to put the mini-spare on the back and ruin your limited slip differential.

The wheels are centered by the lugs, not by the hubs. They will still 'work' on your newer car.

The amount that needs to be removed is very small. The mid-96 and earlier cars have a rear hub that is 0.03" larger than the front hubs. That's what causes the problem. Just needs a light sanding, or grinding..... just enough so when you put the wheel on the hub there is no resistance at all.
