Question Sorry guys, another "does it fit" question...

Sorry to ask, but I'm not to familier with backspacing and offset. Basically wondering if I can run this setup:

Rear
Size: 15 x 10''
Rear Spacing: 5''
Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-3/4''

Front
Size: 15 x 4''
Rear Spacing: 1-5/8''
Bolt Circle: 5 x 4-3/4''

Thanks. And again, sorry for another "does this fit" question.

Not enough backspace on the rear wheels. They'll be about 2" outside the fenders. A 15x10" wheel needs a 7.5" backspace to stay under the fenders..... click on "Trailer Queen..." in my signature, or the photos below. Those are 15x10" 7.5 BS Weld Pro-Stars, with 28x10.5-15W ET Drags.

I also think the fronts are going to stick out a little too. I have the 15x3.5" 1.75" BS Pro-Stars with a 5/16" spacer, and to me they stick out too far. Yours, without a spacer will stick out 0.30" further than mine, if my calculation is correct:

Damn. Yeah I acually like the way your look (as far as sticking out). I can't seem to be able to do all that math for wheels and backspacing. I'm looking to run a 15x10 in back and a 15x4 in the front but don't know what backspacing to look for.

What are my basic rim options. I know bogarts but they are a bit pricey. Other then that I'm told Centerline is the only other rim that you do not need to grind the caliper. I do not want to do that at all. Do you know off the top of your head what style centerline rims will fit. I'm gussing the Terminator rims I was looking at are since the largest offset I can find there is the 5".

Sorry for all the questions and lack of knowlage in this department.

A lot of people use the Centerline Telstar. But its only availble in a 15x8" with 5.5" BS. That's the correct BS for an 8" wide wheel. And that BS is not shown in their catalog, but a "search" here should turn up more info.

But they don't make a 10" wide wheel with any more than a 5" BS as far as I know.

Like Fred said, the Telstar in the 15x8 with 5.5" back space fits well and can be found at Summit.com if you scroll down the Telstar page. The problem is that the 15x4 Telstar fronts hang out a little bit with the 1 3/4" backspace. Its not bad its just not perfect. Ther funny thing is that the Convo Pros in the 15x4 are offered in a 2.25" (I think, but it might be 2.5"- its been a while) backspace which fits perfect up front and looks great ( I ran the convo pro fronts for years...)

...The joke is that the Convo Pro 15x8.5 rears only come with the 5" backspace and they hang out a little too much in the back!!! They are not too bad with bias ply MT ETs, but the buldge of a DR hangs them out a bit too far. I wish Centerline would make the Convo Pro in 15x8.5 with a 6" backspace...It would be perfect and I wouldn't have to be saving for the damn Bogarts...Either wheel choice requires no mods to LT1s with stock, non upgraded brake systems.

In other words, currently you have to run the Telstar 15x8 rears with the Convo Pro 15x4 Fronts...oh boy....

Great info. But I can run the telstar all around right? they will just hang out a little in the front? It won't effect anything when turning and stuff?

Injuneer, & ABA383: Thanks again for the great info.

Yes, you can run the Telstars all around (15x8 & 15x4) with no mods or problems. There's actually several people on this board who have done it and they look good. These are the wheels that GMHTP used on their "Grapes of Wrath" project car not too long ago. And I think that Centerline actually made the 15x8 with the 5.5" backspacing as a result of the project car.

Do a search for Telstars and see if you can find some pictures of them on a car. Somewhere here there is a red LT1 Camaro with them with 275 50 15 Drag Radials....The only other thing to remember is that the Telstars are heavier than the Convo Pros....

Good Luck and post pictures when you are done.Me, I'm still saving for some Bogarts...

Thanks again for all the info. Yeah I'm going to run either the convo pros or telstars all around. I wanted to do the telstars but didn't realize that the convo pros were lights. So now I am going to do a little more research and then make my pick.

Thanks again for all the great info.

You're welcome...do search for "telstars" and you'll find a post of mine from 04/2005 asking for pictures of the telstars on a car. Someone sent me a link for a red Z that looks nice with them...
