Looking at mid 89 and earlier, what to buy?

Hey guys, I am looking to buy a iroc or z28 in near future. Can anyone help me with what models/years are best? I want t-tops or convertible but i would like the big V8 and TPI if I can find it. And all are auto trans? I'd like a stick if they made it but havent heard of a TPI manual. I like the body style from around 82-83 to about 92-93. Thanks

Well the best to buy would be a t-top 1991-1992 Z28.

It would come with a tuned-port 350, automatic (don't think any 350's came with stick), cool ground effects and cool spoiler.

Earlier that that the ground effects are different.

I would definetly keep it above 1989 if you can.

Personally, 1991-1992 RS (with 5.0) or Z28 (with 5.7) is your best bet cosmetically and interior design.

Also, you can swap seats out of any 1993-2002 F-Body if you would like.

Its going to be extremely different to find a 91-92 Z28 350 with t-tops. 99.9% of them with t-tops are 305's. There are 5-speed manuals out there, but they all came with 305's, unless the engine or trans was swapped in, like mine. Also, 99.9% of convertibles are 305's, as well.

If you want the high performance models, they will be 89-92's with 350's, automatics, hardtops, and dual catalytic converters. The hi-po cars with 5-speeds will be hard tops, and have dual cats, too.

Get a cheap 91-92 V6 with a good body, manual, and T-Tops and throw an LS1 with a t-56 in there.

Not that hard, we did it on my friend's 86.

Or get an '85 IROC with a 305, they had more HP than the '86-'89 305s. I always thought
those cars were cool, just not enough power.
