Any new info on ASR removal???

Anybody had any luck on removing their ASR and retaining ABS? The more I look at that big ugly black box on my valve cover, the more I want it gone. Plus, I never EVER use it, its completely useless for me. I know someone was going to be trying to get a new ABS pump and some other stuff from a non ASR car, but never heard whether it worked or what. Any news?

I just took mine off and threw it away. I don't think you need new abs stuff just new throttle and cruise control cables. Also go into the ecm switch tables and turn the asr off.

Yeah, but do you still have ABS functioning? Is your car OBD-I or OBD-II? The system is different on OBD-I cars than it is on OBD-II cars.

I pulled the asr box off my 96z with an obd1. I needed a new throttle cable thats it. yeah the abs does not work anymore just so u know. Although ugly, i would personally just keep it on.
