C5 and LT1 TA go down

I haven't had very many street races with this car since I've owned it, but in the last few nights I got 2 of them. Both races happened driving home from work. The c5 was behind me on the off ramp of the freeway. It was a hard top c5 and appeared to be bone stock. I revved at him a few times and it seemed like he might want a piece, but there was a lot of traffic. About 6 or 7 miles down the road the single lane we were driving in split into a 2 lane. He was behind me and suddenly came up on me real fast. We were going about 45 mph and it seemed as if he was already on it so i downshifted to second gear and started to get on it a little. It seemed as if I was already pulling him and may have gotten a slight jump on him. I wanted it to be a fair race so i let off the gas near the top of second and granny shifted into third. We were then side by side and were both completely floored. We were pretty much dead even until about 90mph were I very slowly started to pull him. The road was getting pretty ****ty so we let off at about 100. The front of his car was probably at my door. BTW cutout was closed and I was going through the stock exhaust. Very close race!

The second race was last night against what appeared to be a bone stock white lt1 TA. This race was on the freeway and it was a guy around my age talking on his cell phone, so I figured he would probably want a peice. I downshifted in to 3rd at about 70 and goosed it a little bit to see if he wanted some. There was too much traffic but he got right behind me so I could tell that he wanted to race. The lanes opened up and we were side by side at about 70 mph, I gave him the jump and ended up pulling him very hard to about 100. Probably already had about 2 to 3 cars on him and counting.

Nice kills especially the C5, most of those old bastards wont run their precious Corvettes.

Nice kills. Why did you sell a faster car and buy a slower one?

Bersaglieri, you'll understand when you're an old bastard. Willingness to run probably has more to due with age and previous experience than the car they drive. Come to socal and I'll run you, even though I'm an old guy in a Vette

Re: C5 and LT1 TA go down

Eh, I am just generalizing Its all in good fun, I just cant get a Vette to race me, but perhaps after I talk my 18 year old buddy to trade in his Z3 for a C5, I'll get to run one. He wants his Z3 to beat my Z28, but I told him he's better off joining the GM V8 club than modding his Z3. Socal is a long drive, but if your buying gas I am there!

BTW I'll still be racing when I'm an old Bastard, I'll put money on that.

The TA is MUCH nicer than his Formula was. The Formula needed a lot of work...was fast, but if you rode in that thing at ~ 130 mph, you'd sell it too. :P
