Question Question for the Pros

A few months ago, I was browsing used cars on a lot and sat in a '00 V6 and noticed how clean the plastic was and it had no ArmorAll on it at all. It didn't look greasy, but instead like a brand new car.

I've always used ArmorAll on my car's plastic to make it shine and protect it, but today I cleaned every inch of plastic inside with ArmorAll Cleaning Wipes (purple cannister) which took off all of the greasy ArmorAll and left my dash, doors, etc. with a clean, dull finish of a new car. I like the way it looks and it really removed a lot of dirt and grime, but is this stuff safe to use over and over, or should I reapply the ArmorAll I've always been using to keep the plastic conditioned? If I keep using the Cleaning Wipes instead of the ArmorAll, will my dash and other plastic areas start to crack from the FL sun?

Re: Question for the Pros

Personally i only use any kind of "cleaning" product on my dash if i am going to a car show. And it is meguires, nothing else. I dont really like the "greasy" look, because it shines and blinds you when driving, and sometimes doesnt apply that easily to all sections. I would rather just wipe off the dash with a california car duster, and maybe use a damp rag on it to clean it off. Thats my .02

Re: Question for the Pros

There are several ways to clean your dash and plastics (ie. Deep Down from Top of the Line or Woolite:Water 1:6). Once your dash is clean, you should protect it with a product that has UV protectant in it (ie. Zaino Z16 or 303).

*I* apply the dressing and let it sit for about 10 min. Then I wipe it down with a slightly damp towel for a nice matte finish. In between treatments, I maintain it with a California duster or a microfiber cloth.
