Has anybody had any luck reflaring the rear brake line?I have a hydraulic flare kit and I was wondering if maybe it would flare the line.If anybody has any info on this please speak up as I am about to cut my line and i'd like to know before I cut it.
Thanks,
JE

All late model GM vehicles use a wierd reverse flare. You will need a special flare tool to do it properly.

Why are you cutting the line???

I have a bubble flaring tool.My concern is that I heard people say that the line tends to split during the flare process. Some say they think it's to hard.I'm thinking the hydraulic tool I have will do the trick.I think i'm going to try it.
My reason for cutting is that i'm removing my ABS and I want to cut the line so I can move the line wherever I want it.

I've flared the front lines; when I put my line-lock in. I had no problems.

I redid all the lines on my car using the bubble flare kit from blue point and never ahd any problems at all. No cracks or splits. Depends sometimes on how old the material is that you are flaring and if you set it up correctly to flare and bend over just enough. My buddy did some on his car and heated the line just a bit before he did them with a MAF torch and it made it even easier

I bubble flared them today with no probelm. My kit is also a Blue Point that I got from Snap-On.
Now I can't figure out where I want to mount the line lock.I'm thinking of either next to the relay box or on the inside of the strut tower closer to the master cylinder so I will have less brake line.
Anybody got any pics of where they mounted theirs so I can get an idea of routing the lines.
Thanks in advance,
JE

Mine's mounted on a custom bracket that uses the front ABS Module mounting bolt. Looks factory installed. There maybe a picture or 2 on my website (Look in my profile for the link)
