The 224/236 duration with a 114lsa seen to be the most popular....

I just wanted to see a few combos and compare some dyno and track #s

Re: Blower guys... what cam are you running??

i am running the cam you just mentioned. very tame cam IMO, but i am sticking to it since my goals for this car are geared more towards being a real nice driver rather than making the most power/lowest ETs possible with this combo. SAE corrected 594rwhp @ 5100 (ran out of fuel there) was the last dyno with it. i have made a TON of changes since then (removed cats, bigger exhaust, lighter driveshaft, new fuel system, different heads, hydra-rev, lower compression, Delteq, higher rocker ratio, electric waterpump, bigger TB, FAST, tuning, nitrous, raised the boost 5psi, etc etc), hopefully will be seeing a dyno within a couple weeks to see how it does.

The high lift version of this cam is great for a blower street/strip car.

what is the lift of the higher version .622"? (with 1.6 rr) . I have "Comp 987 springs" will they handle that cam ?? (For some reason I think I remember reading somewhere that my springs are good up to .600 )

Who did your heads (old setup), and what Sc are you running?
In your new setup how much N20 are you running

T-trim, maxing it at ~5950. old heads were LT1s with 2.02/1.60 and a mild port job by a shop in Texas. going to spray 100-125 on the new combo probably, depends how much power its putting down without it and how the car feels.

.605/.624" #987 is not quite enough spring.

Leo,
Not an Fbody but figured I'd post anyway since it's a blower car -- hope you don't mind. My cam(s) spec are approx: .531 lift, 292 duration (approx 242@.050 lift), 114 LSA.

Cheers,
Tim

I don't mind at all

BTW guys I just got my P600B on the mail ... It will definetly be a while before I install it (No Rotating Assembly yet, or fuel syst. Although I already got = 4bolt lt-1 block, Ported intake, and L.E. heads, Vig. TC So 1/2 of the battle is done )

Re: Blower guys... what cam are you running??

Guys,

What do you think about the 224-236-114 (high or low lift) pulling 3.42:1 gears with a 6 speed.....specifically cruising at 70mph in 6th? I have the 218-230-114 and it works great for the street, but in the next combo I might want to step to a bigger cam. I only drive the car on nice days. I have been considering Combination Motorsports 227-239-114 (or 115) for a while. What do you think about the 3.42's and the street factor? Yeah, I guess I did hijack the thread, sorry.

Thanks,

-Scott.

Re: Blower guys... what cam are you running??

I like the 373's in my car a lot. You have to be more careful 'cause you loose traction easier than the 342's due to the increased torque multification. The 373's let you climb hills in 5th or 6th, whereas you would have to use 4th with the 342's.

I think 410's could possibly be too much gear in a street car, but a lot of guys are running them with NA engines. Other possibilities are 355's & 390's (if you have a 12-bolt).
