New to Nitrous: Some ??'s for ya
New to Nitrous: Some ??'s for ya
Just wanted to ask a few questions and run through a check list of what I need for a safe setup on a basically stock car:
Here's what I got from doing a search:
1) NX GM Stage 1 EFI wet kit (30-150 hp)
2) Walbro 255 lph in tank fuel pump (for 150 shot)
3) MSD-6AL (for rev limiter)
4) MSD Window Switch (someone explain how this works??)
5) NGK-TR6 plugs
6) Nitto 555r's
7) Fuel pressure regulator???
A few extra questions also:
I like the way the TNT kit has that plate which I guess contains the nozzles. How does the NX kit compare? Where do the nozzles go for the NX,aka (cutting, drilling)?
Are there any sites out there with an install page? I'm sure its easy enough, any extra help couldn't hurt.
Sorry about my naiveness about the subject, but I want to do it right the first time. Any info you got would help.
Thanks

I'm not sure u need the 6AL or fuel pres reg. The rest is good. The window switch reads your tach signal and won't let the nitrrous turn on unless it is in between the RPM range you choose like 3K and 5.8K rpm. It lets the motor get spinning fast enough before it turns on and turns it off before u hit your rev limiter. You can learn more about window switches here, bmnracetech.com/faq.html . It is an FAQ page for window switches if you want more info on them and how they work.
I'd want the 6al....if you miss a shift or something, the car will rev to the limiter extremely fast, possibly still leaving nitrous in the lines and into your motor.
Cutting fuel with nitrous is bad. You say there wont be enough nitrous in the lines to cause trouble, but look at when people purge nitrous into the motor at idle, that blows things up.
