Talking Drag radials make all the difference in the world!

Finally raced a bunch of guys with the DRs at the local grudge racing 1/4 mile track. It has a brand new concrete launch pad with lots of rubber on it from big slick cars. WRX with 1 passenger, exhaust, intake, more boost etc. was first up. I heat the DRs and out launch him by 1-2 cars and pull him slowly all the way to about a 5 car win. Next up is a Stage 2 SRT-4 on street tires . I out launch him by about 4-5 carlengths and he pulls closer all the way and I end up winning by 1-2 cars! Last is a '93 LT1 with a tb and a rebuilt engine on street tires. I had one passenger he had none. I pull him by about 3 cars out of the hole and maintain it or he barely pulls the whole way, so I win by about 2-3 cars. These DRs are the best thing to put on any rwd car! I bet on average I am at least .5 second faster in the 1/4 mile with these tires vs. streets. No times at this track so I don't know for sure yet. Street tires are worthless!

Drag Radials are pretty awesome.

My friend got a pair of Nittor DR's for $100 and ran a 13.98 with his '94 LT1 M6. All he had was a Catback, CAI and a B&M Ripper.

We also had some friendly races with a friend who wnet to the track with us that night. He has a 2000 Saleen 281 Mustang. We raced him 3 times from a stop, pulled on him HARD from a dig and we were beating him until the top of thrid. All because he couldnt hook up and we could. He had 1 person in the car, we had 3.

It's pretty great when you can get all that torque to the ground.

I love my Nitto 555 DR's -- 315/35/17. Too bad the car is now parked waiting for a new ring and pinion 'cause I took some teeth off of it pulling out of a gas station The shift kit hits hard in 2nd and it made all sorts of noise immidiately after the shift. Gears and LS replaced with Eaton posi and 3.73 less than a year ago. But while it lasted, the tires hooked so much better than the Dunlops

Nice kills. I would have expected the WRX to hang closer on the launch but your driving compared to his was obviously superior.

oh yea, i love the BFGoodrich Dr's....simply amazing! Its the best when you can be in first gear and having a really high rpm and just hammer down and feel the tires just hook like a motha! For sure one of the best things you can do without adding horsepower

Running rwd or fwd cars with street tires against my car with DRs feels like cheating to me . They don't stand a snowballs chance in hell against me in the 1/4 mile unless they have a big horsepower advantage and/or can drive very well. I was hunting for near stock LS1s all night in hopes of chalking up some LS1 kills but there were none near stock. I think I will fare very well against stock LS1s in the 1/4 mile with average drivers, we will see.

Lol, I hear ya. It's great getting a 4+ car lead at the launch against superior powered vehicles. It's then up to them as drivers to run my *** down. It's much easier being in the lead, and watching them in the rearview (figure of speach) knowing they are praying they dont make a mistake, knowing there getting beaten by a car with 100 less h/p.

I need DR's very badly. I think I could get some 13's flat with them.

Nice kills steve. I wish I lived closer to you. I'd love to run your car at a track for fun. I think we'd be a real good race. But I can pull a 2.0 60' all day on stock tires (one of the advantages of the A4) so I don't think you'd pull multiple cars on me out of the hole. Still I bet your in the 1.8 60' range now don't you think? That's enough to put at least one full car on me and make me play catch up.

Win or lose it would be fun to run

Good Job! Now get some track times for your sig.

Thanks for the props, guys! I wish I could give you guys new times but that track is grudge racing only with no times or trap speeds. The best 60' I ever pulled was a 2.23 with new 225/50R16 rear tires. I would guess a 2.00 or better with these DRs. Some day I will make the trek either 85 miles each way to the 4000' altitude track or 140 miles each way to the sea level track. Sucks being so far from real 1/4 mile tracks. I would love to race you Darren! I will run a nearly stock LS1 sooner or later and get back to you guys.
