I was following my brother to work one night cuz he said he wanted to race me in his 03 Focus SVT. I thought I'd humor him and tag along. Not even a minute before we hit the freeway, I see Cobra headlights (the foglights gave it away) right behind me. I figured they'd wanna race. They always do. So I casually strolled up to the first light, heard a few revs and gave a few back. The second that light turned green, I was off the line so fast I don't think the mustang knew what had happened. So we pulled up to the next light and now a yellow mustang GT pulls up on my other side. This guy thought he was badder than the guy in the cobra by the way he was driving. Anyway, smoke them all again at the next light and then when we came to the last light, (the one right before actual freeway) I was stopped, the GT was rolling about 7 feet behind me and I couldn't see the cobra cuz my brother's car was next to me. I must've been the last one out of the hole but I easily passed my brother and the GT. I was kinda sitting there wondering why I wasn't catching up to the cobra when I looked down at the speedo and saw i was redlining in 4th and only going about 125! Damn those 4.10 gears!!! Moral of the story: be sure to pick appropriate gears depending on the type of driving you do. Cuz I didn't!

 

4.10 in auto? Should have went with 3.73 my man.

 

If you have a TC in the basement that your going to put on, your not gonna want those gears in the car much longer.

I'm happy to say I'll be switching to the 3.73 very shortly after that little escapade. I have to say though on behalf of the 4.10 gear on an otherwise mostly stock A4 car, it rocks! If anyone would like to purchase it, let me know. It'll be up for sale soon.
