I have seen somewhere that it would fit,but look funny and I think saftey wise .315's will fit on 11" no problem.

315's are heavily not recommeded for a 9.5" wheel. i'm pretty sure a 295 is as wide as anyone really attempts....

You can run 315's on a 9.5" wheel with no problems. There are a lot of people running them with no issues at all...
I even remember some guy selling a pair of salad shooters that he fit some 315's on...now THAT'S probably not smart...

it will work, and many many people do it, but it can roll the bead on a hard corner.

basically, it's possible: but it'll look funny, won't be incredibly functional, lip could get rolled if you actually drive the car hard at all....but besides that....if the car is a casual non-daily driver, then go right ahead!

I didn't know anyone made a 315 for a 16" wheel???
I've seen 315's on 9.5" rims. They didn't look too bad but you could def. tell they were too wide for the rim. Something like a Nitto 315 drag radial wouldn't look too bad on a 9.5" rim since they are one of the narrower of the 315's out there.

good point....i knew there was a certain tire out there that was a "315" but had a tread width more like a 295 or so....

It's actually quite a difference. I had Comp TA's in the 315's on my 17x11's and they are one of the widest 315's. I then went with the Nitto 315 DR's and I was amazed at the difference in width and quite honestly, dissapointed at the looks of the Nitto's compared to the Comps. I really LOVE the traction of the Nitto's though so it was a decent trade-off.

I have got one even better than that. I have a 17x9 inch and have 315's on the rear. Looks great but I don't drive the living crap out of my car either. It is mainly just for looks.
