$1,500 to Rebuild my Tranny! is this fair price?

I was quoted this by a local tanny shop that does work on F-bodies. People have recommended the shop for its good work. The shop will be pulling the tranny and doing all the work.

The guy told me he doesn't know exactly the cost untill he opens the Tranny, but rough estimate is $1,500. He would also be replacing the components with stronger parts.

so... do guys think this is fair?

Well, the price is fair. But obviously I can't comment on the quality of the work. Also, you should replace the torque converter when rebuilding the tranny.

Except if it's an M6, like yours, DOH.

I got a quote for 1500.00 with the viper input shaft included, which alone is around 500.00, so i would shop around.
