Maple Grove gathering
I've been in touch with Maple Grove Raceway about hosting a fall F-Body event. Although they're pretty well booked for this season, they've suggested that we could be worked in with a test-n-tune day on Saturday September 28, 2002. Cost to run will be $20. I've invited the MAFBA, CJC/FO, and the SLFBA, and am extending an open invitation to everyone here in the East. Three months out and the response thus far has been good; I don't think seeing 40-50 F-Cars would be out of the question! Maple Grove has suggested that we could possibly turn this into a stand-alone event for 2003, so a big F-Body showing wouldn't hurt our chances. Mark your calendars and make plans to attend!

Where is this place at. I live in Altoona Pa, and would like to know how far from me it is. I've only had my Z for 5-6 months and I'm getting an itchy shifting hand.
Thanks

That's the same weekend as the ET Team Finals at Cecil. If I don't make the team (very likely at this point) I'll be there. It would be nice for the Grove to have more of these events. I would also like to see a Trophy Marathon as Englishtown does.

It's cool to see such a good response to this. I really want this to be a 'meet', and not just a bunch of F-Bodies in one place. Mr. George Case, whom I spoke with from Maple Grove, has been really helpful. With all the import events at the Grove lately, it'll be great to showcase some American muscle! Keep spreading the word!

Thanks Sseeya. What other strips are there around central PA. 3.5 hours is a long drive for a few hours worth of racing. But this MapleGrove shindig sounds pretty exciting. I'll have to make sure I call off work!!

It takes me about 1 1/2 hours to get to Englishtown from Morgantown. It's 10 min North off exit 22 (Morgantown) on the PA tpke.

Ron, there is a "Trophy" class run at the Grove. Win a second round and you get a 1" trophy. Runner up gets a 3" and winner gets a 4". This is for "street" cars running 12.0 and slower. I won this class twice this year (back to back weekends)so I won't in it for the duration of the season. Maple has a two win and out rule for this class.

PSU 98, is there going to be a seperate class for the F-bodies or do we just sign up for the regular classes (Trophy, Street, or Heavy)? From the $20 entry fee it sounds like the Trohpy class. I just replied to Ron's post and realized that technically I'm not suppost to run in Trophy anymore. I don't know how strict they enforce that rule. On another note it might be a good day to run street or heavy. The top 6 street cars and the top 17 heavy cars will be at Cecil that day.
