Where can I get a 383 shortblock done Cheaply and GOOD
I have a budget right now of $3000 to $4000, I will pull the motor myself probably, where can I get a great performing short block built and machined for that price? or am I just dreaming? If so I can save for another 6 months I prefer the DFW area, I know there has to be a few places some of you have used.

Dude, I have a 383 short or long block I would love to sell for cheap if your interested. I live in Plano off 75. Motor is 4 bolt with scat crank, polished rods and polished KB pistons. The motor is sitting in my garage and has not been run. Is for an automatic trans. We can look at the bottom end and top end also.

Thx for all the info so far, I got a guy who will do the assembly, and I like his price quote for the parts, I was gonna wait to see if another idea popped up, but having a msg posted about a shortblock, with no email or # is a little frusterating lol

I would go to Kim Barr Racing Engines. He does awesome work for a decent price. He does it all. He built my 355, balanced and blueprinted. He is located in Garland.

I meant to say Garland. I am going to rebuile my engine to a 355, and this Kim barr sounds promising. My E-mail address is vaiouser81@hotmail.com
