How do you get the window crank handle off so you can remove the whole door panel??
I'm trying to get the driver's side door panel off so I can figure out why the window doesn't work. The only thing keeping the door panel on still is the window crank. How the hell do you get this thing off??

buy a cheap tool made for this at your local parts place or a small screwdriver sometimes will work.
There is a c clip on the shaft that needs to be removed.

Quick and dirty way: Get a cloth rag (thin), place it under the crank (around the spindle) then do a "shoe-shine" back and forth motion. It should pull the clip right off.
Proper way: Get a removal tool from the auto parts store.

If all else fails, a cutting torch will work too Just kidding. The tool is the way to go. The rag trick souds cool, I never thought of that. That would be great in a pinch.

Don't even need the tool. Bend the end of a metal coat hanger into a small hook shape and pull the clip off.
When reinstalling the handle, clip the c-clip back into place on the handle and push the handle back onto the stud until you feel it fasten. And don't forget to reinstall the plastic washer sandwiched between the handle and the panel, if your handle came with one, so the panel doesn't get all marred up.
