Post aluminum driveshaft

will a 99 ls1 transam aluminum drive shaft(6 speed) bolt directly into an 87 or 89 transam 700r4 automatic transmission,without any modification?

I believe so. At least that is what the GM dealership sold me and it seems to work. Would I do it again? No. It lowers the rotating mass but not much else.

yup, got one on my 86. its the same shaft for 700r4, 4l60E, t56, and I think but not sure is same for t5.

it also will not vibrate like the steel ones at high speeds cause its lighter.

It will work, but if your putting serious power to the ground, and your hooking up... Expect to blow it out soon! Seen three guys this year alone blow em out, just by spraying stock camaros with drag's..

go with steel, and get it balanced..
