Post Went from T5 to th350, what do I need for NHRA to pass my car

Hey guys. Well, I went from T5 to th350 in my '88 Trans Am. Now, I still have the stock clutch pedal (so I can start the car), stock 5-speed console but an '88 auto shifter under it. What do I need to pass tech at the local track? And how do I wire that? Thanks.

all you will need a drive shaft safty loop.To fix the nutral safty switch just twist the 2 wires together on the pedel. Also dont forget to put in in "P" or "N" before starting...Also if your car is faster than 11.99(1/4)7.50(8th)you will need a 6 point cage...

Yeah, but in order to pass Tech at the local track, they will make me put it in drive and try to start it. If I just twist the two wires together, the starter WILL turn and I will fail. When in R or any forward gear, it must NOT want to start. -

I don't think the clutch pedel safety switch is the same as the neutral safety but it might be.

There's a large purple wire coming from the ignition switch. Should be 10 or 12 gauge. It goes through the neutral safety switch then down the the start solinoid. On your shifter you need to install a neutral safety switch that will close the circuit when in park and neutral. The purple wire is connected on both sides of this switch. When the shifter is in any position other than park and neutral, the circuit is open and no power can go to the start solinoid.

If the clutch switch wires are purple then they're on the same circuit so use them.

I believe the factory neutral safety switch is mounted at the base of the steering column at the firewall and is cable activated by the shifter. If you buy an aftermarket shifter ie. B&M Megashifter, they have the switch as well as a reverse switch mounted right on the shifter.
