I don't think the clutch pedel safety switch is the same as the neutral safety but it might be.
There's a large purple wire coming from the ignition switch. Should be 10 or 12 gauge. It goes through the neutral safety switch then down the the start solinoid. On your shifter you need to install a neutral safety switch that will close the circuit when in park and neutral. The purple wire is connected on both sides of this switch. When the shifter is in any position other than park and neutral, the circuit is open and no power can go to the start solinoid.
If the clutch switch wires are purple then they're on the same circuit so use them.
I believe the factory neutral safety switch is mounted at the base of the steering column at the firewall and is cable activated by the shifter. If you buy an aftermarket shifter ie. B&M Megashifter, they have the switch as well as a reverse switch mounted right on the shifter.
