394 rwhp and only 12.6 ???

ok I have 394hp to the wheels at 6300 rpm and 361 pounds of torque at 4500 rpm. I have all suspension mods and et streets, 3.42 gears. My vigilante is a 3400 stall but it is only flashing at 3000 plus i am crossing the finish line at only 5000 rpm. What is most embarrassing is the 12.6 @ only 107. I hook good and only get 1.82 60' times. I have the 230/236 cam if that helps. I know I have something out of place but cant figuire it out. all comments are greatly appreciated.

Do you know how much the car weighs? is it a rag top?

I just noticed you are from the mon valley. Where did you get dynoed at? Do you run at Keystone(pittsburgh raceway)?

With that much hp you should be doing better. Sounds like either the stall or tranny slippage to me provided you are hooking up. Are the shifts firm or soft?

Is it running rich? Perhaps some blockage in the exhaust like a stock Y pipe or plugged cat?

Your sixty foot time could probably be lower too. That is why I was thinking stall slippage. The more horsepower you have the higher the stall should be. I am currently suffering because my 3600 stall is actually stalling at 4400 and that is too much for my car. I can't get a decent dyno off it because of slippage. Perhaps the converter should be redone.

This is strange, you were able to post that much rwhp but your times are reflecting that. If you are having slippage I would think it would've shown up on the dyno. Do the rpms stay at 5k for a while or are they steadily climbing? What was the elevation of the track and what were the weather conditions? How much does your car weigh? Those are decent numbers btw, is it a stroker or just a heads/cam setup? The times in my sig are with 345 rwhp. My raceweight varies between 3660-3700 lbs.

Well, I doubt it is slippage if he just had it rebuilt.

How was the weather? Were those #'s corrected?

I can only get 2200 rpm out of my before it wants to turn the tires over. If you are getting 3000, that does not sound right.

How tall are those ET streets? Taller than stock? A taller tire will hurt you by basically making you run less gear.

It is not uncommon for cars with less gear to dyno a little better than geared cars.

Have you changed anything recently?

the track was kinda crappy and nobody was hooking great. It was a good day. as for exhaust i have an x pipe with bullets so thats not the problem. as for the stall my converter flashes at 3000 rpm. when you say 2400 or whatever that is break stall. the guys at the dyno said i might need a bigger converter. I thought vigilantes were underated as far as rpm but mines flashing 400 rpm lower. thanks guys

whats ur elevation at ?! ur dyno #s could be corrected for elevation but ur race track isnt !!

for the record i ran 117 mph with a 3600# car which only put down 380rwhp and 350 rwtq .. in an M6 car .. ran 12.0 w/ 1.80

I've never had my car dynoed, but from my calculations I should be putting down #'s close to yours. My race weight is 3450 and it ran the time in my sig in mid may. First, what year is your car and what tranny do you have?

Jeremy-autotap your car on a run and check o2 readings , knock sensor and timing retard. you could have poor quality fuel and it is pulling a ton of timing killing your mph .
I have a vig 3600 and it stalls to about 4000 rpm .
Maybe your convertor is going south on you.

Anyway, those things should show you something-in my opinion, goodluck.

I agree with ^^ The MPH should be higher. At least 113 or 115.

I had my car dyno'ed at 362HP NA and It ran a best of 7.09@98NA I think the converter had something to do with It, I picked up after going to a tighter converter, but havent had time to dyno since then
