Yank ss 3600 too much???

I dynoed my car this weekend
329.8 hp @5500
349ft/lbs @4250
my torque was straight across the board from 3800 to 4800 they had to start the pull at about 65 mph or it would kick down to 2nd gear so the graph doesn't really start till around 3400 ...wish I had pics of the graph...But what do you think....will this particular stall be ok for this setup...?????

I think that stall will work great with your combo but you will probably run into the infamous 1-2 high stall shifting problem. I had it and fixed it with a kit from transago that turns your trans into manual valvebody when you flip a switch I have heard other people fixing it with computer reprogramming too. But other that you should be fine. Goodluck

Unhappy Yeah, What T/A lt1 said...

... In a '94 car ANYTHING over 3000 will most likely give you the shift problem. I got away with a 3200 in my T/A for years with NO problems. My luck ran out this year when I went to 4140 converter. NOW... no shifty into second. Currently working on it via computer program from Bryan Herter at PCMFORLESS. He has a reprogramming fix that works for 2 out of 3 cars. Hoping mine is in the "2" bracket.

If not... next step is to install a vacuum modulator, which is yet another supposed fix. It seems that different things work on different cars. Ya just gotta experiment. 1994's SUCK!

Hi All,

Everyone says that the problem starts with a high stall converter but I have a stock converter restalled to 2400 and I had the no shift problem on my last run. I do have a lot of torque and I did a longer burnout last time when this problem first surfaced after I had about twenty trouble free runs.

I have brians tuning ....He went ahead and did the tuning for the stall but Now even before the stall it bangs the rev limiter in th 2-3 shift....I am trying to figure out what this problem is so when the stall goes in I don't mistake one for the other....I am still using stock stall now....I have been told it could be the tranny fluid , being as I am using mobil 1 syn. Let is slip too much maybe??? and then again it could be my shift points??? I am not real sure at this time which it is..... Wanna get this panned out before I get into the high stall issues and try to cure it with something totally unrelated.....I am open for suggestions on this issue as well
