People With Head & Cam Install Exp, Will Pay $$$
I'm looking for a couple people ore more to install new cam and heads on my car. I'm here in Ann Arbor and would like to do the install in my garage. I have a compressor and some tools.
As I said, looking for people who have doneinstalls before. I know there are some full time wrechers here, or people that know some.
I was told doing the heads and cam can be done in a day since no head spring work need to be done.
Well, let me know if anyone is willing?
Thanks in advance.... Oh Yea, did I mention beer alos will be on hand along with getting paid. LOL
Thanks In Advance,

Bill

One day huh???? Thats what we thought. If you take your time it should take atleast two good days. It took Harold and I from Friday 5pm to Midnight...Saturday 10a.m to 11pm and Sunday 12pm to 6 or so pm.
Dont forget to get long Q-tips to clean out the block of all the coolant. Dont want to hydrolock do you?
Have fun,
If you have any Questions give me a ring,

yeah, I highly doubt in one day. I spent about 8.5 hours to install a cam in an LS1. but that was my first time getting into one of those eng.s and think I could do it in about 6.5 next time. the worst part about it easily is the spring change. but thats not nec. since your installing new heads. Im currently busy for the next few weeks working on my own trans and heads swap, then I got an eng. r&r to do. but if its not done by then, you can email me and we can get it done for a great price if your willing to help. but youd have to bring it here to my house in dearborn heights cause I have an aircompressor and all the tools and dont like to travel to work. Im only about 40 min.s away. I know since I go to the wolverine games alot. chris

There are some special tools that are needed, but it's more time consuming than anything. We spent alot of time running around getting tools. I guess the more you do, the quicker you get.
Joe, he's got power tools That might shave some time off. How much $$ are we talking, shoot me an email.
Do you have all the parts that you need? Bolts, gaskets, balancer puller, etc?

Two days to do it in a garage. Mine took about 7 days at 4 hours a day. Make sure you have all of the gaskets, bolts and tools when you start.
I used pushrods wrapped in paper towel to wick the water out of the bolt holes. Worked great!

Wet vac with small hose on it, or how about long Q tips from the medical supply store, or blow them out with compressed air first...
Things you think about after the fact.

My buddy that works over at APE could do a head and cam package in just over a day. Of course he has done it numerous times so he knows everyhting that has to be done.
********EDIT--This reply does not mean he will do side work, more or less letting you know how long it should take.*******
