4th Gen Seat Foam - Still noplace to buy new?

This question has been asked before - but I have never seen anyone provide any resources for buying new, even though several people have said just "Google it". I have Googled it more than I care to - and it seems nobody offers anything to replace 4th gen seat foam.

Does anyone have any idea if this stuff is available anywhere other than a junkyard?

I just looked at gmpartsdirect.com for you and holyyyyyyy smokes those seat components are expensive!!!

It's kind of weird. They don't have different color selections for the covers, yet they seem to offer them still... And they don't have #5 which is likely what you need.

You know, you never said if you were needing Camaro foam, or Firebird foam.

I looked at my Camaro parts manual, and the part # for...

'93 cushion is 16729505
93-94 is 17908772

etc. etc. etc.

You're going to have to tell me the year you need. There's about 15 different ones for some reason, and they are all year specific... If you have the parts manual, the rest of the numbers are on page 1339.

Actually. I'm glad scottso did ask the question. I've contacted my local Chevy dealer trying to get the correct back foam for my car using this info.

Sorry. I wasn't wasting anyone's time - I never got an email that this topic was replied to after the first one, so I thought it was dead.

I am looking for an '00 Camaro - and it seems to be unavailable new or aftermarket.

And I'll let the springs poke me in the a$$ before I'll pay for some of the disgusting overpriced used foam on ebay.

You could always buy the foam( Hobby lobby, etc..) and make it..... Electric bread slicer , bondo file, and time, works wonders...

Thought about that - but the lower foam has velcro to hold the cover in place. I'm not sure how well that would work gluing the velcro in place on the newly shaped foam.

Anyone done this before?
