I want to Supercharger for my new Camaro. What is the most cost effective way without installing it myself?

it one be long until kits are available. I hae never installed one, but It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do.

 

Well if you are talking about the 2010 Camaro, then NO ONE (except GM) has ever installed one! If you are talking about 4th Gen Camaros, then there are already kits available!

 

ill let you know about kits in a few days. im in the middle of a negotiation with a certain s/c company.

 

The G8 Magnusson kits should provide a decent jumping off point for a Camaro kit.

I wonder if it would clear the hood...

FWIW, keep in mind you can't simply slap a supercharger on a engine that has nearly a 11:1 or more compression ratio and is already wound near it's limit, and think everything is going to live happily ever after.

Outside of voiding the warranty 20 ways to Sunday, you throw more than a few pounds of boost into that engine, and go around drag racing it as if it were stock, and you're going to be in for a very expensive lesson on things like powdered metal, non-forged connecting rods among other things.

If you're serious, have a vault of money burning a hole in your FDIC insured bank, and your world won't cave in if GM refused to compensate you for engine or drivetrain damage, then pay for someone who knows what they are doing and does this stuff for a living.... in case you were thinking of that friend of a buddy down the street who odd car jobs on the side. Bad idea.

 

I was not planning to take it too one of my buddies down the street. I think Hennessey is much too expensive. I want a professional installation at a reasonable price, any ideas would be appreciated.

I have a 2005 GTO with 400 horse, essentially the cars are the same except for the looks. I really want to purchase the LS-7 Z-28, but they don’t make it and it does not look like they will make it for at least 2 more years. So yes, I do want to up grade.

Just so you know, there will still be someone faster then you! So go ahead, have fun, spend alot of money to make the car 3 seconds faster, and of course have fun breaking alot of **** on a new car (weather it breaks or you wreck it).
