Taillights

The RS tails are supposed to be different than the standard tails... Looking at some pictures, are the RS tails slightly smoked/tinted and that's the only difference?

from what I had read, the difference is that they have a chrome surround. That may be a standard option for the SS also though, so the chrome surround would be added to an LS or LT model when the RS package is selected.

In some shots I've seen the base RS has amber outer tails (turn signals), while the RS with a package and the SS get full red tails.

The ones with amber tails may be Euro-spec versions.

the amber lights you saw are probably the mules for other countries since the US does not require amber lights.

edit: everyone is beating me out today...

Can't wait until we get some shots of the base car for comparison. The tail lights are just one of the details / differences I'd like to see.

That is the difference, one is darker.

All the production pictures I've seen have the chrome surround. Although, maybe I haven't seen any non-RS V6 models yet.

the pictures were taken in a different light and at a different angle but you can clearly see the red RS has a darker rim around the inside.

its not darker, they just use "black chrome" inside the light housing.

so your saying the "Black Chrome" does not make it look darker?

I'll stick with my first Post, it looks darker to me.

they aren't darker. go look at other cars with them. they do look nicer usually (the camaro's is too small to get a good effect), check out a car like the honda element, those have it too on their top of the line. You'll see the tint is exactly the same, its just the black chrome in there that gives it a different look.
