After seeing GM's latest cloth seats in the newest models , Im not to worried about this . I think the days of cheap mouse fur and wierd patterns are gone . GM's leather in there newest models seems to be much more durable then even just a few years ago .

The only seating upgrades I will/would pay extra for , is if by some chance the leather option has houndstooth inserts ...or if there is a Recaro seat upgrade like in the Cobalts . I would also pay extra for Microsuede . The Cobalt SS , HHR SS and the Malibu LT all have microsuede inserts , they would be nice in the Camaro too .

After seeing the new Malibu's interior, I look forward to seeing what they'll do with the Camaro.

Yeah , its really nice . The mid pack LT is nicer inside than the LTZ imo ...because of the microsuede .

I'd love to see some color in the Camaro interior, it is a sports car, so to speak. I like richer tones too, they don't look so cheap. Instead of tan, a richer brown, not meaning darker, just more color. And rich blacks or deep charcoals etc..
And I sincerely hope there's no light-gray plastic in it anywhere...

Repeat after me: "It's about the people!"

The word "Camaro" means "friend, pal, or comrade" -- and thus, let's not insult people.

As to interior fabrics -- I can assure you that there were 5 interior fabrics that were candidates for the 2000-2002 Camaro........and all were shown to Camaro/Firebird/Mustang/Sport Coupe intenders to get feedback. (5,000 people as I recall in Atlanta/Dallas/Los Angeles -- and the fabric we chose was the one chosen by the majority of those people.

It may be of interest to you (and others) that what they chose just happened to be my least favorite choice -- and no, I did not make the final decision -- GM Design did -- but we listened to our customers -- and thus, that's what was offered on the 2000-2002 --

Very interesting.

Does that mean you'll show me the five choices for the 5th gen interior and have me and me only choose my favorite one? It'd be so much easier than finding 4,999 other people!

A short search on a couple of websites should net them more than 5,000 opinions on the subject.

I hope the lead edges of the seat and seat back(as you slide in) are a heavier material, or reinforced b/c that's where all the wear and tears begins...

The first thing that I did when I bought my Y2K Z28 was to send it to a shop and have real leather installed..the gray/black zebra pattern cloth the car had was very unattractive to me..and now after 7 years and 157,000 + miles the drivers seat is showing a little wear on the bolster where my phatt azz drags accross it on entry and exit from the vehicle..I hope that GM offers a good quality leather interior for the 5th gen car...hopfully better than what has been offered in the past.

THe simple the better. As long it doesnt have the seats from the 4th gen (Which I'm sure they wont use) the seats should be fine. My 08 Altima has good seats but sometimes when i really sit, i could hear metal parts in the seat. Hopefully they come standard with power seats.
