Throttle position sensor

Throttle position sensor
My car won't start unless I press in the gas while turning it over, and it still usually take two tries to start it. My buddy told me it might be the throttle position sensor, Does anyone else agree? And is so, how much does a new one go for, or can I ajust it? Where is it located?

Do you have to put it all the way to the floor to start it? That would indicate "flooding" since putting the accel pedal to the floor at startup puts the PCM in "clear flood" mode.
Or are you just pushing it slightly open to try and start? That might still indicate some fuel leaking into the cylinders.
The stock TPS sensor is not adjustable. The PCM measures the closed throttle voltage at startup. If its between 0.20-0.90V, it should work fine. Have you checked the TPS voltage? You can either hook up a scanner, or measure it directly from the wires at the connector. I'd take some measurements before randomly replacing parts.
The sensor is located on the passenger side/end of the throttle blade shaft, opposite side from the quadrent that the throttle cable is attached to.

I had a similar problem after I put my stroker in.
Would happen once every 3rd or 4th time I tried to start it.
Went away completely after I installed an Accel 300+ ignition.
I wonder if you have a weak coil or a leaky injector?
How old are your plug wires?
