Starter or battery?
The gauge on my volatge sayd the battery is dead, I took the battery to O'reilleys and pep boys, the both say the battery is dead and won't hold a charge, it's still under warranty with Autozone but thier machine says it's good and they wont replace it.
When I put in the battery and turn the key the lights go out a slight click from the starter sounds and the gauge drops to nothing, that's it
my expierence and general reasoning tells me that the battery is dead and something is wrong with thier machine, I'm calling the manager to try to get somewhere tomorrow, is there any way that this could be anything other than the battery?

Sure it could be something else. If you have a bad connection, it will not allow enough current out of the battery and will not allow the alternator to charge it back up.
The most commonly missed connections are the 2 grounds on the engine and the frame. No one ever checks these to be sure they are clean.
However, since the batterys at Autozone are the worst you can buy and 2 other places told you the battery is bad. I would believe them.
Find an independent service station that can give you an ubiased opinion. Remember, all 3 places you spoke to sell batteries. BTW, stick with Exide or Interstate if you're not using GEL batteries.
