O2's causing hesitation. Couple ?'s....

Finally got my car back together a few weeks ago after installing the mods in my sig. and have been battling exhaust leaks ever since. I think I have most of the leaks fixed, however, I noticed the car still seems down on power and has a bad hesitation below 2,000rpm. Yesterday, I pulled my new O2's (<200 miles on them) and both had black sout on them. I installed my original O2's (w/80,000 miles) and my hesitation problem cleared up--car runs alot stronger. I checked my plugs and all are greyish white, so I don't think the car is running rich. I'm thinking the new O2's got so much carbon on them due to my earlier exhaust leaks? Can these things be cleaned, or am I going to have to buy another set?

I cannot confirm that this is true, but one mechanic said that you can usually clean up bad O2's by putting them to a blowtorch...
