Long tube headers & O2 sensor location

Long tube headers & O2 sensor location
Installing a 1995 LT1 SBC in a street rod and it appears that my best route is to pick up a set of long tube headers. The shorties will most likely hit the knock sensor, so I'm going to look for long tube D port units.
The LT1 is going in a full size 1937 Chevy sedan so engine space is not a big concern.
My only concern is the O2 sensors being that far downstream, is it a tuning issue with the LT1 ? Will be using the stock wiring harness and running both sensors, have bungs if needed.
Already made a bench programming harness for the ECM since I need to disable VATS, EGR etc.
Thanks

Re: Long tube headers & O2 sensor location
94-97 LT1 engines use 4-wire heated O2 sensors. Make sure you install the 12V heater wiring. The heaters are usually adequate to insure hot enough operating temps when the sensors are located in the collectors of long tube headers. If there is a problem, it will become evident when the PCM fails to enter closed loop. I believe there are Corvette O2 sensors that have larger heater elements if that problem occurs.
On a 4th Gen chassis, you usually need harness extensions for the O2 sensors when LT's are installed.

May have mentioned it but I'm using the 1995 OEM wiring harness...so I'll use the high and low 4 wire sensors.
I have had real good luck with one wire sensors on my TPI conversions but then again only need one and it's located at the collector of shorties.
All of my Astro vans with 4.3 (TBI) had a single wire O2 sensor about two feet down the Y pipe - OEM setup that worked fine...go figure.
Thanks for the response.
