Lloyd Elliot heads

Where can i find some info on them. I will be building a decent street engine hopefully this summer for my 69 camaro LT1/T56 swap and i'll be looking into 396 stroker kits, Lloyd Elliot heads (or some AFR heads), and a clutch that can handle some aggressive driving (not alot of really hard launches but able to handle some abuse). Only thing i'm having a hard time finding any info about are the Lloyd Elliot heads and i've had no luck.

Thanks for any and all help,
William

Re: Lloyd Elliot heads

LE1 cam pulls from 2000 to 6300 RPM and should make 370-390 RWHP with matching heads, 30 lb injectors, 52 TB, 1 3/4 LTs, No cats, good tuning, etc. The heads are ported using stock valves, performance valve job, back cut valves, CM 612 springs, retainers and locks, milling, cleaning and assembly. These heads flow about 255/180 with a 195 cc intake port and stock LT1's flow about 215/150 with a 170 cc intake port.

Heads and cam are $1100 (plus shipping) and will pass emissions with good tuning. This has the RPM range of the Hot Cam or CC 305 cam but makes more HP and TQ through out the entire RPM range. This will work
with any gear and converter but the track times will be better with a stall and some gear.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LE2 cam pulls from 2200 to 6500 RPM and should make 400-420 RWHP with matching heads, 30-36 lb injectors, 52-58 mm TB, 1 3/4 LT's, no cats, GOOD tuning, etc. The heads are ported and machined for larger Ferrea 2.00/1.56 valves, Comp 987 dbl springs, TITANIUM 10 degree retainers, locks, locators, milling, cleaning and assembly. These will flow about 270/190 with a 205 cc intake port.

Heads and cam are $1600 (plus shipping) and will need GOOD tuning. This has the RPM range of the CC 306 cam but will make more HP and TQ at peak and across the board. The REAL difference will be the LE2 cam will make TQ in the 2500 RPM range and the cc 306 doesn't start until way past this. It will make more HP than the cc 306 at ALL RPM's.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LE3 cam pulls from 2600 to 6800 RPM in a 350 (2300 to 6500 RPM in a 383) and should make 410 to 430 RWHP with matching heads, 36-42 lb injectors, 58 TB or mono blade, GOOD tuning, etc, etc, etc. These are the same heads from above but with Comp 977 springs instead of the 987's. These are stronger and will also need Comp R lifters to handle the spring pressure.

Heads and cam are $1700 (plus shipping) and will need GOOD tuning. This cam is similar to the GM 847 cam but makes about 10 more HP at peak and starts making HP sooner. Makes more HP and TQ across the board. Needs gear and converter to work well in a 350. Pretty much a racing cam for the 350 or a good street cam that will act like the LE2 in a 383.

Re: Lloyd Elliot heads

Ok this car will be a daily driven 69 camaro with the 6 speed from the 94 camaro donor. I already have headers and there will be no cats, no air, no egr, no a/c, no frills basically. I am getting 4.10s for the rear and if i can hit around 400-425 with just a reg LT1 i might consider just that or i might build a 383/396 if the funds are right. With those combos about what kinda mileage are people getting? My car weighs 3350 with me in it with the LT1/T56.

Thanks for the help,
I did a search just not on this board specifically i was using google and wasn't coming up with anything specific.

I appreciate all the help and those sound like a pretty good deal. I like the sound of the high winding last one. The motor that the LT1 is replacing was a 355 i spun to 7200, i know the LT1 isnt' going to be doing that but it also shouldn't have to.

I run Lloyds heads and a LE2 cam they work awesome and you can't beat his prices. Good luck and you won't be sorry for using his stuff. I would run the LE1 for a good street setup. Later Clint

Re: Lloyd Elliot heads

Anyone know what the LE2's are good for? I know you can make around 400rwhp on a stock LT1, but what hp can these heads flow on say a 396 like he is wanting to build. I don't know the flow numbers on his heads or really know how to read them. So anyone know?

Re: Lloyd Elliot heads

Yea the 396 is just kinda a little idea i'm considering. It would cost alot of money so it also kinda depends on when exactly i build it. Right now i'm putting the motor directly out of a wrecked 94 Z that had 113k on it and i'm hoping to get maybe 30k more. The longer the time it lasts the nicer the engine i will build. If it is this summer it will probably just be a heads/cam 355 or something but if it's next summer or later i'll be looking at building the 396 to make my 69 camaro a "SS396" clone I really appreciate all the help and i've tried searching for Lloyd Elliot stuff on these boards and i'm still not having much luck.

Re: Lloyd Elliot heads

Does anyone have any experience with the advanced inductions heads? I checked out their website and looked at the power claims they make with heads and if anyone has had good experience i might look into them even more. I see dynos of cars making 400hp+ with stock displacement LT1's (i know lots go into that) but if it's possible to make 400+rwhp and keep it very drivable i'd rather do that then build a stroker. What do you guys think? I'm pretty new to all this LT1 and fuel injection period for that matter. All i know is that with the T56 even going to 4.1's over the old 3.42's and the factory 4 speed i'll get ALOT better gas mileage (8/12 city/highway before) and i'm going to drive this car alot. All tips/info are welcome.

You cannot go wrong with Advanced Induction. I have a set of their full port LT4's and the quality of the work is second to none. They also spec'd my cam and advised me on some of the particular issues associated with a stroker build up and their service was invaluable.

Personalized, professional and dependable service. Give them a call.

Re: Lloyd Elliot heads

I sent an email to Ron (guy that sent me an email from them) asking him a plethora of questions dealing with what all i'm going through as far as decisions i'm going to have to make about what to do with my car. I cannot wait to hear from him and see what he has to say about it all. I liked the sound of their stuff so i might be looking more into them when the time comes.

What kind of power does the 383 you have put out and are there any track times from it yet? I'm just trying to build basically a 12 second (or better) daily drivable old camaro with all the nice features of a new camaro.

No times yet, as it needs to be dyno tuned for the 42# injectors, but it is impressive so far. Good luck with your project - sounds like a fun one.

Re: Lloyd Elliot heads

It should be a fun project and it should get better gasmileage and put out ALOT more power than it was. I was running 14.2's with major traction issues and got 8mpg intown. I'm getting traction issue sorted so that's no longer an issue and i'm hoping to get high teens intown and upper 20mpg on the highway. We will see...I just want my car back lol.

Re: Lloyd Elliot heads

So the AI heads have a pretty good rep so far it sounds like. I want something for a good price with a good rep and a few local C.S. people have mentioned the Lloyd Elliot which is why i asked on here and the AI are getting some good recommendations as well.

p.s. I like the Lexus Kraest, any work on it yet? (2jz?)
