Cool How to reach the 11's

I want to run in the 11 sec. bracket without forced induction or nitrous. What else do I need to do to my car to reach that goal? I am now running 12.7 with current mods in sig. To add I have stock: injectors, throttle body, and suspension. Car runs great in all RPM ranges now that I got some bugs worked out. I don't want to get it dyno tuned until I'm finished buying mods, I know I'll never be finished right. I can't help it though, ever since that first time down the track I've been addicted.

Using the calculators out there I thnk you'll find that you'll need about 400 rear wheel hp to get to the mid 11's. That and the traction to put it down, of course.

You can get 400 ponies out of a stock block fairly easily and, in fact, I think you have the camshaft to do it with it's 230/236 duration. I see that you have a 'full port and polish' on the heads...who did them? Also, your fuel injectors are too small...WAY too small. I think you'll need something like 36-37 pounders to get to the 400rwhp you'd need. Anywa, bump up the injectors and throw on a bigger TB (yes, this will probably bring some comments..lol) and get it tuned for the setup and you should be good to go. If your heads were done by a buddy or something like that you might want to send them off to a professional...

Your stock suspension is likely getting in the way of better times. The SFC's are a good start but you absolutely need to replace your rear lower control arms with something stronger/stiffer. You should also add LCA brackets that will change the angle of the LCA's to minimize or eliminate wheel hop. You can use the urethane bushed components rather than the much more expensive spherical bearing ended versions. An aftermarket torque arm is another good idea..the stocker can store up energy and release it at the wierdest times, often making a good launch into a horrible one....

I'm sure there will be other things but that's a good start. I run a 11.82@114. with my full weight car and I think there is more in it if I could actually drive it. I have less cam than you do so you can do it as well......

The heads were not done by a professional but were not hacked either, I'm thinkin not enough was removed. Bowls were nicely blended, valve guide bosses were reshaped and the runners were just cleaned up, stock valves. I just ordered LCA's and was thinking about injectors but was told by someone else not to worry about them. I noticed in a datalog of the car that the injectors are 80% at 4500 RPM's and 110% at 6300. Thanks for all the info I really appreciate it. If I can get this car to run 11.9's consistenly I will be happy...for a little while anyway.

If your injector duty cycle is at 110% then you need bigger injectors. That means the PCM is commanding the injectors to stay open longer than all the time in order to get the fuel it wants. I don't know of any injector that can stay open longer than all the time...Ideally at full RPM you want your duty cycle at about 80%, your hitting that at 4500. 36lb injectors should be about right.

loose 2 to 3 tenths in the 60' and you'll be closer. that will pay off the entire 1/4 mile. what suspension do you have?

Crossing the line somewhere between 5-5500 RPM's. Stock suspension but I have Spohn LCA's coming.

Ditch the mail order and get a dyno tune - I've heard of people picking up over 50 hp by getting a proper tune over a mail order.

The dyno guy will just tell him to come back when he gets proper sized injectors.

you should b able to run better than a 12.7 with a heads cam stalled and running on mts. My buddy is running 12.4s with a lot less than that with his auto. Work on ur launches get bigger injectors and have that thing tuned.

What is your 60ft time, what's the mph at the 1/4 mile? You might want to mention the average DA at the track too. Did I miss it, have you mentioned what your shift points are?

not doubting that. I've got 30lb injectors and all I have is a cc503.
