Car problem, help! (Fuel?)
Last night I got home from college, took my car out of the garage, put $10 of gas in it, and drove it to my friend's house. While I was driving I noticed that it did not have nearly as much power.. When I would just tap the gas to give it a kick, instead of "barking" like it used to do, it would kinda gargle. Today I took it on the freeway, and when I go WOT it just pauses in the RPM range almost at random, is really shaky up until about 2500rpm, and it feels like I am driving a car with no gas in the tank. If I let the car idle, it will do the normal "tick tick tick tick" when I have the cutout open, and if I wait a little bit, it will start doing random hollow "pops."
When I put it in the garage it was almost on empty, and before I put it in, there was NO problem with the car, because I drove it around and listened carefully for anything before I parked it in the garage.
My dad said I should just run a tank through it and see what happens.. What do you guys think? Fuel filter? Pump? I'm not going to have time to fix this until I get a break from school, but I want some ideas on what the problem could be, thanks.
