Torque Converters

Torque Converters
I'm thinking of getting a torque converter for my next goodie. I do not want to lose any streetability, I'm a 20 year-old college student and still live at home so my parents sometimes drive the car. Under normal driving conditions how noticable is a torque converter? Don't want my parents freaking out on me. I don't know much about torque converters, so what should I look for in the way of stall speeds, etc.? I plan to eventually upgrade the rear end, tranny, and engine in a couple years, and at that time I will replace the torque converter again. But in the meantime, how much more strain will this put on the exisiting factory driveline pieces? My current bolt-ons are listed below. Thanks for educating an ignorant (for now) newbie.

I'd start by checking out www.converter.cc/frequently_asked_questions.htm lots of good info. A lot depends on the stall you're looking at. I love my Vig but it took me a while to get used to it. I'd recommend a trans cooler and stickier tires if you get one.
