The New guy with the usual new guy questions
Hello everyone.
After a couple years of doing the trendy euro stuff with a trendy euro car, I decided to go with real power and bought a 2002 SS.
My first three upgrade choices will be a better air intake, a higher performance exhaust and new tires (Power is nothing without control, right?). I noticed many of the users in this forum prefer the "whisper lid". I also noticed that there are a few higher priced induction kits from places like K&N. My question is, do you loose anything by going the cheaper whisper lid route? Has anyone tried the more expensive stuff and has comments they would like to throw out there?
How about exhaust, what is the "right" exhaust for our cars?
Thanks for any help, despite the fact you may have answered this a million times before.

the whisper lid is very popular.....direct-flo and MTI are two other fav's. The lid setup is just as good as the FIPK by K&n. As for exhaust..... ur gonna get alot of mixed comments here. If you want cheap, throw a cutout in before the muffler. However if you wanna do a full catback, Corsa, Borla, Gmmg and B&B are the most popular. Corsa is what i have and its AWESOME. The tips are the best looking also IMO. With tires there are alot of options also.... i have nitto 555 extremes and am very happy with them.
