passenger airbag removal

passenger airbag removal

hey guys, i heard somewhere if you remove the passenger airbag the car won't start because of the vats/security system. is this true? how can i remove it and still keep the vats?

Why would you want to remove a safety item from your car. Are you turning it into a drag car. As far as starting I have no idea. You could break out the electrical prints and look and see if there is a starter interlock or something like that. What kind of a car are you working on?

Might want to include basic info about your car - year and model as a minimum.

I removed the driver's side air bag (its a track car) and it did not affect the starting. I've never heard of anyone having problems from removing the passenger side bag in a 4th Gen.

If you left click on "User CP" onh the task bar at the top of the page, there will be a dropdown that includes "Edit Signature". Go there, and type in the basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major modifications. That way, it will get added to all your posts, and people will have more info to work with.
