loose hatch?

loose hatch?

every time i hit a bump my hatch rattles (i know...not too shocking...)i finally took some time to look at it and if i close the hatch i can push on it and it moves up and down...is there a way to tighten the latch or anything so it doesnt rattle? thanks

There are rubber bumpers on each corner at the back. Screw in or out to adjust the tension.

The rubber stops will only help if the hatch is sitting low when it is shut. To make it line up with the quarter panels you will have to adjust the rubber bumpers and the latch. The latch is located behind the carpet and can be adjusted up and down by loosening the bolts that hold it.

All the squeaking is at the latch. A cheap fix that worked for me is to wrap the latch piece on the hatch with some electrical tape. Takes a little more effort to close, but doesn't squeak at all.
