Just got my first LS1
Just picked up a 2002 SS 35th anny with 62k miles for 10k.
Seems stock and is in great condition.
Can you guys give me a little info about this car?
What exactly does SLP add? Exhaust, spoiler/hood?
Does it have an LS1 or LS6, i know some of the later LS1's where actually the LS6's.
Since this is a collector's edition car, is it a good idea to mod it?
If so, where should I start?
TB, Intake, cam? Has K&N filter already, what gains does that provide on a stock motor?
Thanks a bunch.

The car was sent from the gm factory to the gm authorized slp engineering factory where all available slp options were added. The options included the slp 345 horsepower air intake and special center exhaust performance package, the bilstein ultra performance suspension system, auburn high torque performance differential and bf goodrich g-force ta kd 17” tires, along with the deck mat, 35 anniversary floor mats.

LS1vsLS6
"LS6" was just the block term for that year I really dont think it made a difference considering they're part of the LS engine family and that year the GTO the Vette and SS had essentially the same motor. but thats my opinion Im still fresh on the ls1.
same LS6 intake, same 241 casting heads, same "LS6" block, same injectors, same camshaft, same crank, same pistons.
