Is this a good deal?

1994 Firebird Formula m6 t-tops, power windows/locks, am fm cassete, 15,000 on replaced used engine(75k total on used engine) and rebuilt trans and new clutch. The car is bone stock parts replaced were as follows the fuel pump, radiator, Opti-spark, water pump, alternator, A/C compressor, 1 lower ball joint, both window motors were replaced. Stuff still neeeded to be done is as follows.

-It will need tires soon. They aren't "bald", but there's less than 1/4" tread left.

- there were some scratches on the inside panel of the driver's door (previous owner had a dog) and we buffed most of it out. It's not noticeable until the doors is open, and not much even then.

- radio controls on steering wheel do not work. Otherwise radio works fine.

- left headlight motor "grinds" for about 10 seconds after closing. Otherwise operates fine.

- Small ding on left rear quarter panel - about dime size or less

-Also there is a 3 inch long dent in the lower rocker panel on the passengers side.

-The interior is in very good condition besides a small cig burn in the rear seat and a missing fuse panel cover.

Other than that the paint is in good condition and there doesn't seem to be any rust on the car at all. The car has about 70k miles on the body. I think I could get it for about 4,000 which includes travel expenses for me to pick it up. Is this a good deal? This is about the max i want to spend. If anybody else has a comparable car for sale at a comparable price let me know. My email is in my profile.

my first question would be "how did you need a rebuild on a nearly bulletproof transmission, unless you beat the **** out of it?"

sounds like it's been ripped on...could be alot of gremlins...but for $4000 that isn't bad.

eh 4000 isnt that bad of a price but you might be in for a few surprises down the road a ways.

The car is owned by a couple in their mid 40's the wife drove it it sounds like when they replaced the engine they decided to have the trans rebuilt at the same time and replace the clutch. I might just hold off on this one for a while and keep looking. I would like to find something that isn't 1700 miles away from me.

THATS THE ONE YOU ASKED ME ABOUT?

man, i wouldn't do that unless it was a killer deal. that's a long way for a car...specially one with so many replaced parts!

Yeah that's the one that I asked you about is there any way you could stop and check it out for me if i give you the info. I know it is alot of replaced parts but hopefully that means there is less stuff I would have to fix. I got her down to 3500 and i think it will cost me 3800-4000 total to get it back. The blue book is 5500 for it.
Thanks,

Scott

Also if anybody knows of good online site to search for used cars please post. So far I've hit here, ls1.com, lt1tech.com, ls1tech.com, fbody.com, ls2.com, thirdgen.org and autotrader.com.
Thanks,
Scott

As much as I love the F-Body, almost more than anyone on the planet........., I think it has come time to remove the life support from this F-Body and turn her donor to help other F-Bodies in need of transplants.
