In the early 70s they made an LT-1 motor the "-" being the important part there.

It was a solid flat tappet cammed 350 factory option.

That helpful or did he mean as a option package like "Z28"?

Oh and I looked it up, the LT-1 was available 70-72 and to be clear was just a carburetor gen 1 motor. They recycled the name LT1 for the Gen 2 V8 developed in the early 90s.

The type LT refers to the trim package. I don't remember exactly what it included but it was the higher trim with cloth seat, power windows etc. The engine in all Z28s was the L-82, 245hp, 350ci, quadrajet carburetor. The Z28 was available in the LT trim.

The Camaro White Book indicates that in 1974 the Z28 option was available on the Type LT, at a cost of $502.05.

Type LT was introduced in 1973 as a distinct model, to replace the Super Sport option. The Type LT could be ordered with the Z28 option, the RS option, or both. RS was dropped on 1974.

LT type is the same designation they used for the Berlinettas. I would guess it is the same option platform. So, it was a Z28 with "berlinetta" options.

I'd say it is a good deal if the car is rust free. I was looking for a second gen last spring and could not find a decent one that was rust free for under $8k.

About 10 years ago I picked up a 75 TA for $4200 that was in pretty decent condition. I'd love to find one for the same price now that wasn't a complete pile.
