Turbo Lt1's: whats the highest PSI you've attained?
I was looking for the HP capabilities for the PT76GTS and came across an old thread by Jose back in 2005. He was comparing his PT76GTS to a PT88. He made high 9xx HP with the PT76GTS and just slightly more with the PT88 but they were both at 24 psi. Up pretty high. I've ran 19psi on my current setup a couple of times. Just wondering how comman 24'ish PSI is on LT1 brothers cars.

No, not the same person. Rick is from Texas IIRC and no longer runs the car. Z8, don't know name, is from the Chicago area.

Re: Turbo Lt1's: whats the highest PSI you've attained?
I've been in the 23-24 psi range with a T76GTS on a 383. It wasn't that reliable, though. I eventually upgraded the intercooler and exhaust to make the same power at 17 psi.

Hey Mike. You ended up selling your machine, no? It was a great inspiration for others like myself.
When you say you upgraded your Intercooler, do you mean in terms of size(ie: going from a 3" to 4" for example) or in terms of water to air vs air to air or a better design, etc?
I have the Ebay FMIC from OBX. 3" in/out right now.

Re: Turbo Lt1's: whats the highest PSI you've attained?
I spiked mine to 24psi recently at moderate RPM due to a mistaken understanding of the 'High Boost' config of my new wastegate. I was only in second gear at 3xxx rpgm and it blew the complete charge pipe going from the turbo to the intercooler off and into the street. Have you encountered issues with couplers blowing off at those elevated PSI's? What kind of couplers and Tbolts (If they are a higher end type) are you using?
Do you recommend a specific brand and/or Vendor for your couplers/Tbolts?
I'm using Ebay stuff so that may be the problem.

A little trick I have used with pipes that don't want to stay is to spray some hairspray on the pipe and then tighten the coupler while it is still wet. Don't laugh. Spray some in your hands and see how sticky it is.

I had been running a vortech aftercooler, but upgraded to a custom bell unit that was 2.5x bigger.
