I purchached the magnaflow catback and the direct fit hi-flow cat (993444). The cat came with the y pipe that bolts up to the manifolds. After reading that there is a high probability of busting bolts on the manifold flanges, would it be possible to just cut the stock y pipe where it goes into the cat and clamp it with the magnaflow cat? are they 2 different diameter sizes and would require a reducer and welding?

They are 2 different diameters. 2.5" from the Y-pipe and the direct fit cat was 3.0"
