Re: Clutch install

The stock install, including torque specs, is detailed in the 1996 factory manual, volume 1 of 2, part 2, section 7C. You can download a copy of the manual here:

LINK: 4TH GEN SERVICE MANUALS; 82-02 PARTS DIAG; 99-02 WIRING DIAG - Fourth Generation Pontiac Firebird (1993 - 2002) - Firebird Nation

Copy of chart from page 7C-14 below.

If you are installing an upgraded aftermarket kit, did it not come with instructions? May have different recommendations than the stocker.

Thanks injuneer.btw its a stage 2 clutch, that i believe is also replacing a stage 2.the sheet that came with the kit is more of a warranty and break in period not really specific to a t56.but im sure stock specs should be good?

Re: Clutch install

74 ft lbs for FW
22 ft lbs for PP

I don't know what "LS1" specs are...but these are TQ for LT1 clutch

DO NOT over TQ the PP bolts or you will have disengagement issues. PP bolts for LT1 are specific, not just any bolt. Use the factory ones or ARP now makes them

Same LT1 spec as shown in the photo of the LT1 factory shop manual above.
