new head unit acting screwy...

Had an Alpine 9831 head unit installed recently. Its running four 6 1/2 sony xplodes. I also have a 2 channel amp running a 12" sub. Here's the thing though, ever since I got it I've been running my IPOD through the Ai-net auxilary input. The damn thing though keeps channeling sound only through the subwoofer...for example it will be working fine, then I'll shut the car off, and when I turn it back on there will be no sound through the speakers, only through the subwoofer. I can't figure out any rhyme or reason to it.

I think it has something to do with the Ai-net input...I remember someone saying something about the head unit has to be reset every time something is hooked through it...but it's not like I'm disconnecting the thing from the back of the head unit.

Its really annoying though because to correct it I have to reset the head unit which of course erases all my settings. Any clues as to why?
