Changing a Driver side Door Speaker in 1994 25th Aniversary Trans AM! Need Help!

Hi Guys!

I have a 1994 25th Aniversary Trans AM with 34Kmiles on the Odometer!

I have two problems! First, I have a driver side door speaker that makes a crackling sound when you turn up the base. What do I have to do to get the speaker changed?

Second, My Factory CD Player wont play untill the inside of the car warms up then it will play. When its cold it wont play? Anyone ever have this happen?

Where can I find a Factory Replacement CD player and Factory Driver side door speaker?

Thanks Lee Stroud!

New? The dealership. Used? Ebay or Craigslist, even here in the classifieds will be your best bet.

As for the speaker, you have to remove the door panel.
3 big bolts, 2 little screws.
The door lock pops off the rod arm,
pull the handle bezel down then sweep it forward to take if off.
The Window and lock switch pops off the door handle. Unplug connections.
Remove the black triangle part at the mirror area.
The door is held in by large plastic hooks, just kinda pry the door off with a flathead at the bottom and it should separate and lift off.
There will be a plastic cover for sound deadening. Just peel it off and set it down and restick at the end.
Now the speaker and mount is visible. 3 small hex nuts hold it in.

As for your radio, that sounds weird.

make sure you take the triangle piece at the front of the door near the top off first. not sure if it's the same with pontiacs vs. chevy's but i broke mine because i forgot to take it off. and you shouldn't have to mess with the plastic deadening
