2nd Radio Harness?

2nd Radio Harness?
I just put a JVC HU with a PAC SWI-JACK adapter in my car this weekend, A Tech from Crutchfield told me that my factory Monsoon amp would work with the JVC HU, I have to wonder if that is true because when I installed the HU there was a
2nd 8-pin harness in the back of the Factort HU that I suspect was for the Amp, ofcourse I had nothing to plug it into so whatever it is is not working now,
So what is that 2nd 8-pin Harness and if it is the amp is there anyway I can wire it to my JVC to get it to work? or should i even bother?
How stupid is Gm to have a 2nd harness for the amp!! Why not just wire it off the primary 20 pin Harness??
Still the JVC sounds better than the Monsoon did.

Re: 2nd Radio Harness?
With no knowledge whatsoever of the harness in these atm... I imagine the 2nd part also has the remote turn-on for the factory amp, and possibly signal lines back to it. I did a stereo in a Pathfinder a while back, and the rear speakers were on a factory amp. Had to figure out which wire was the trigger and feed that from the HU, and then it was fine... (props to http://www.the12volt.com from back in the day when I did it)

yeah, there is a wire on the Adapter Harness that is for a remote/ amp controller, I still have sound from all 6 of my speakers which is good, so maybe the amp is working, t would be nice to know for sure, and what the hell is that 2nd 8 pin harness for?

From pulling up at http://www.tafmotorsports.com/images...g.diagrams.pdf , it looks like that might be for a factory remote CD Changer...

Re: 2nd Radio Harness?
that's probably it, I'm glad to hear that the harness is something I dont need, eventhough I dont have the factory changer GM still included the wiring in the harness, same for the Steering wheel radio controls, even if you dont have the option, the wiring is still in the harness, atleast on the 2000 & newer camaros when it was a factory option, I know because I bought a $60 wheel and added the feature to my car like 7 years ago. I also had to buy the $175 unit behind the steering wheel from the chevy dealer with the added wire for the SWRC but it plugged into the harness under the knee panel.
it also make sense, I have researched IPOD connectors that have a similar plug on them, I just never put 2+2 together because I always thought of CD changers having a round connector.
Anyway, thanks that is a big help,
Can anyone confirm that the 2nd 8or10 pin radio harness is indeed for the CD changer on a 2000 camaro?
