2015 Mustang Leaked in Autoweek

Re: 2015 Mustang Leaked in Autoweek
No Grille driving lights for the GT? Going to make it even harder to differentiate the GT from the V6 and 4 banger from a distance now (on 11 up cars with the v6 having dual exhaust you already couldn't tell the difference from the back from a distance).

Re: 2015 Mustang Leaked in Autoweek
My first impression on the car was "Wait, is that the old one or the new one?" Now, I like it more—except for the fastback. I'm even alright with the nose, it's just that there's not enough decklid for my tastebuds.
So I'll wait for the Gen6 Camaro.

Re: 2015 Mustang Leaked in Autoweek
I like the car overall in GT trim at least and particularly the rear. As somebody pointed out above the front end is a bit bulbous due to euro pedestrian regs so its my least favorite.
Also Ford should just dispense with the silly wing on the GT with the fast back, it looks extraneous, well at least as presented. A proper wing on pedestals might look better (ala' the 69-70 models which the rear of this car apes).
It also looks like Ford integrated some Boss motor into the standard coyote, I'm hoping the new GT motor is making around 440 to 450 hp when it hits.
And while I'm in a small minority here, glad Ford didn't upgrade to DI, I'd much rather they let the technology mature for mass produced gasoline engines, especially in the aftermarket before they jump on the bandwagon.

•Sintered-iron forged Boss-like 302 rods and springs
•Upgrade valvetrain and cylinder heads with improved port design
•Larger valves and cams
•New intake manifold with charge motion-control valves
•Redesigned piston tops
•Balanced forged crank
•11:1 compression ratio
•Even more detailed changes:
◦New cams with 1mm more intake lift and 2mm more lift on the exhaust side
◦New cylinder heads with revised high-flow ports and slightly larger valves
◦Mid-lock cam phasers to provide greater range of cam timing on the intake side
◦A revised intake manifold with charge-motion control valves.
◦The forged connecting rods from the current Boss 302 engine
◦The forged balanced crank from the current Boss 302 engine
◦The valve springs from the current Boss 302 engine
◦Standard oil cooler

If it comes out at 475hp, its going to be an insanely fast car. Solid 11 second car especially with an auto.
