383" 224/236 36#injectors ... will this work?

OBD 1 computer (95 Z-28) with LT-1 editor
383" displacement
190cc AFR heads
9.0 compression ratio
224/236 .502/.520 114 lsa (cam recomendation from this board)
36# SVO injectors
Vortech S-trim 3.125"/7" pulley combo
Super FMU

I was planning on simply adjusting the displacement and injector sizes with the editor. Leave the rest of the factory fuel map alone.
Then have the FMU boost the fuel pressure up a bit on the top end.

I don't think I'll max out the MAF, but it will be close, still, if it does max out it will do so at the top of the top end, the FMU should cover it.

Or ... should I try 42# SVO injectors and try and eliminate the FMU by jumping up the PE table in the top end??

Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

FWIW, on my stock LT-1 engine running 10 psi of boost, I saw 420 - 430 gms/sec on the MAF pretty regularily.

thx

If your fuel pump(s) is up to it, you may be ok. But that injector size is pretty marginal, IMHO. You will need a stout pump to run at the pressure that will be needed (I'd estimate 80-90psi will be needed).

The intank fuel pump is a 255 liter/hr pump and the T-Rex is where it ought to be ... right under the drivers seat back where it can give a relaxing " sonic massage" ...

Fuel should be enough, so then, I'm reading your post and it seems to say ... skip the 36# injector idea all together and go with 42# injectors along with the Super FMU

Is that about the gist of it? I myself was wondering about the 36#ers, right now I'm running about 65psi of fuel pressure with the 30# injectors and figure that is plenty high enough. I know what would happen if for what ever reason I lost fuel pressure when it was up around 90 psi ... instant lean ... leads to bad things ... leads to a ravaged wallet ... :(

Thx for the input

any more??

I think the 36#ers will be way too small. Thats what im using on a 350 with stock heads and im showing 120% duty cycle on the datamaster. (fp ~70psi)

And you will definitly max out the MAF :D
